[Overture No.1]

very nice

It's a wonderful composition. The instruments don't seem to have that full-bodied sound the piece needs, though. I'm sure all it needs is a little more attention to the EQing of each instrument. Also it would be nice with a little compression on the master channel, just to really give it that oomph.
It still deserves a 10/10 and 5/5 though, despite that slight production flaw as, musically, it is a brilliant piece!

thanks for the listen :) , there are some pre-made but sliced and tweaked and some original just layered up and mixed together.

ooooh yeah

i love the subtle bits of flute and piano. It's just so mischievous and nice. The thin texture really works for this kind of song. Great work!

but the drums are way too low in the mix. In this kind of song they need to be pumping out.

Sorry for being picky, but the lead guitar is slightly out of tune with the other guitars :P

nice tune, but it would really benefit from EQing and a bit of compression would be nice to balance out all the levels.

thanks man. I appreciate the feedback. yea, I agree and would have liked to added some more instruments in there, possibly even a second guitar track. the only thing i'd say is that the drums sound a bit square. Thy varying the velocity of the snare a bit to make it sound more human. Love the solos!

I know what you mean. I had varied the velocity, but only on 3 levels. I was using Fruity Loops to do the drums and wasn't very familiar with it at the time. Next time I hope to play the drums myself. Thanks.
